Faraday's 802.11b and 802.11a/b/g medium access control (MAC) and baseband
processor (BBP) IPs, FTWLAN210 and FTWLAN220, are market-proven WLAN solutions,
which are compatible with IEEE 802.11a, 802.11b, and 802.11g standards. The
FTWLAN210 and FTWLAN220 are specially equipped with a hardware security engine
(IEEE 802.11i compliance) for enhanced security in wireless transmissions, including
WEP64, WEP128, WEP256, AES-CCM, and TKIP. As far as power consumption is
concerned, the FTWLAN210 and FTWLAN220 include a power saving mode, which
empowers the whole system to operate at doze mode during prolong idle, hence
extends the battery life cycle of portable devices.
MAC IP Faraday's 802.11 MAC IP, a part of FTWLAN210 and FTWLAN220 IPs, is a low-cost solution
implemented by hard-wired with no CPUs inside. Carrier Sense Multiple Access with
Collision Avoidance (CSMA/CA), beacon interval and local time synchronization function
(TSF) maintenance are implemented in MAC hardware; and a hardware implemented
security engine is included to support IEEE 802.11i standard. This feature makes wireless
connection more secured during transmission.
BBP IP Faraday's 802.11b and 802.11a/b/g BBP IPs, which are also parts of FTWLAN210 and
FTWLAN220 IPs, are implemented by state-of-the-art digital signal processing (DSP)
techniques. The BBP IPs are designed to provide all mandatory modulations and data
rates required by IEEE standards. Many BBP features are to conquer the channel and RF
impairments. As a result, the performance of WLAN is improved and the wireless
connection becomes more stable and reliable under complicated indoor environment.
ADC & DAC IP
To complete the WLAN solutions, Faraday also provides ADC and DAC IPs for the FTWLAN210
and FRWLAN220. The following is a list of features the solution includes:
- TX I/Q DAC, RX I/Q ADC
- TX automatic-gain-control (AGC) DAC
- RX automatic-gain-control (AGC) DAC
- Transmit Signal Strength Indication (TSSI) ADC
Faraday's FTWLAN210 and FTWLAN220 can seamlessly combine with ADC / DAC IPs to
provide complete 802.11b and 802.11 a / b / g MAC and BBP solutions.
- For FTWLAN210 solutions, the required ADC/DAC IPs are DAC210HA0A, ADC030HA0A,
FXADC140HA0A, and DAC110HA0L
- For FTWLAN220 solutions, the required ADC/DAC IPs are FXDAC060HA0A,
FXADC060HA0A, FXADC140HA0L, DAC110HA0L, and FXDAC150HA0A
