Faraday’s multi-foundry design implementation service for FinFET technology leverages our abundant ASIC design experiences and resources to support global fabless houses, system houses, ASIC providers, and foundries who access advanced FinFET technology. The flexible service can facilitate customers with any designated section of IC design on any FinFET technology processes of all foundries, for their short time-to-market and efficient resource allocation.

Design capability

Faraday deliveries more than 50 ASIC projects per year, including 20% with SoCs. These accumulated ASIC design experiences in a wide range of applications have led Faraday acquainted with not only each part of IC design flow but also possible issues about mass production. We make good preparation in all details to ensure the best yield rate while assisting customers in design integration, design and layout verification, synthesis, DFT implementation, and/or physical implementation.

Design resources

Faraday’s R&D centers are located in 8 cities in the globe, collaborating design projects with their specialties. From the abundant ASIC experiences, we have built up solid SoC expertise and steady talent pool which can effectively fulfil customers’ demand for backend or front-end design implementation service. Customers can focus on their core design parts and make good use of Faraday’s resources to complete the rest.

Faraday’s DIS embraces a dedicated team with a technical project leader for best schedule control and the security of customers’ proprietary information.

Project Management

In addition to the experienced management team, Faraday’s DIS applies an in-house online system ADMIRETM to manage the implementation flow and schedule. It supports in 5 categories as below.

  • Quotation system
  • Project evaluation system
  • Issue tracking system
  • Schedule control
  • Design implementation flow control system

Security

We understand customers’ consideration about the security of their proprietary information. The remote collaboration between Faraday and customers will be arranged via a secured room to guarantee the security of customers’ proprietary information.

Faraday ISMS (Information Security Management System) framework covers controls related to organizational structure (physical and logical), human resources, information technology, and supplier management among others.

  • CCTV and video record system for design room and data center
  • Internet VPN or dedicated line to customer design environment
  • Logically separated network with firewall appliance protection
  • Two-factor authentication mechanism for system login; only accessed by authorized team members
  • No data download from customer data vault allowed
  • Dedicated design room with access control

Business

Faraday doesn’t own any product to compete with customers.
Faraday has devoted in ASIC business for over 30 years. We focus on the design implementation methodology as well as resource management of the collaborating project. Faraday’s interest is to achieve the service quality and schedule for customer. In addition, customer’s database will be stored on customer’s server; only authorized engineers can access through VPN. Customer’s right is secured.

Resource Capability

The dedicated resource will be designated based on the project scale & schedule. Faraday evaluates each project and propose the scale of dedicated resource.

Faraday currently has around 110 manpower dedicated to the design implementation service, and expects to expand to 500 manpower within 5 years.
